I was a little late jumping on the Pinterest train, but now that I’m on,
I’m obsessed! It’s addictive the way
facebook is, but at least with the ‘book, you can rationalize the hours you
waste by telling yourself you’re keeping up with all of your old friends.
I refrained from creating a Pinterest account when I first heard all the rage because I
thought, “Fake bulletin boards? Random things that you like to look at? Who cares?”
And this is exactly what it is….and yet, I have spent a good 4 – 5 hours
clicking away on that dang website this weekend. When I’m doing it, I think to myself, how
many women are just like me right now:
wine in the left hand, pushing ‘Pin,’ ‘Pin,’ ‘Pin’ with the right hand? Silly, right?
Pinterest is a clever little vice,
though. It makes me click on a 5000-calorie
dessert that makes me drool right after I click on some workout gear that I
have to have. I end up thinking “Ahhh, I
wish I had thought of this for my wedding!” and even that I need a little baby
to put in all these decked-out nurseries.
(My mom might read that last sentence and trick me into looking at all
things baby on Pinterest until she
has her way.) And what is it about
puppies that is so freaking cute?!?
Someone else who’s obsessed tell me that it’s okay
to spend countless hours scrolling down, click, ‘Pin,’ close, scroll down,….on
and on and on. For the rest of you, jump
on the train or run away fast! (Or at
least don’t judge until you’ve tried to resist this temptation for yourself!)
Until next time, sending
love,
The Spiveys
